Mommy Labels

A while a ago while waiting for my son at school, I overheard a mom mentioning an article she read about the Helicopter mom being the new Lawnmower mom. I asked her what does that mom-title entail. And she basically explained that its the kind of parents that try to clear their children’s paths to make everything easier for them and that according to the article, it is not a good thing though – as your kids need to have challenges to help them grow stronger.

God immediately spoke into my heart with scripture out of His Word. The same words kept going over and over in my head till I looked it up in the Bible:
I will go before you and will level the mountains ; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.
Isaiah 45:2 NIV

God is my Dad and Isaiah 45; tells me that God knows best concerning your life and the life of your family. He will clear my path. If my Father tells me that He will go out before me and clear my path then His faithfulness is my confidence!
God knows when to clear my path and when to walk trough tough times with me:

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Romans 5:3‭-‬5 NIV

God also says in His Word:
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Rom 12 verse 2

Do not let the world form you as a Mom. Let God lead you through parenting as His Daughter.
Mom, don’t take on Worldly Labels. Have a relationship with God and let His Spirit lead you into how to raise your kids – He knows best.

I am raising my kids for God and for His Kingdom and Glory. I don’t care what the world labels me as. I care as to how God sees me and I trust His guidance.

You are already fully equipped, Worthy and able to raise your children.
Be a mom who knows who you are in God.

True Identity

According to Wikipedia the meaning of Identity is to know who you are, in what you are. Where you belong, and to who you belong to.

You get two types of Identity – Worldly Identity and Identity in Christ. Worldly Identity can take you a lifetime of seeking, which can be daunting, fearful and frustrating, it can make you feel rejected, exhaust you and cause disappointment. It can distract you and deceive you, because you are letting the world label you and defy you as… they see you.

To search for your identity in the Kingdom of God is fulfilling, rewarding, it brings true meaning in your life, contentment and peace in your heart. It makes you bold, brave and steadfast. The Word of God shows you, who you are, who you belong to and God’s purpose for you.

In 1 John 3 verse 1 – it beautifully states why most people do not know who they are: “See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.”
1 JOHN 3:1 AMP

When I look at my toddler it very much reminds me of identityless people who thinks they know who they and who wants to run where ever you put them down. We run, but we do not know where to, and then when we fall flat on our faces – we have the audacity to ask God why. If the wind pushes us a little and rattles us we react out of fear and emotions and make wrong choices in life, instead of knowing who we are and knowing Gods Word, and then make wise choices in bad circumstances under Holy Spirit guidance. Most of us have no Foundation, no Identity or we depend on our Worldly Identity and we truly do not know God and His purpose and function for us.

You are called, precious Mom and Dad, as well as your children. Everyone is called. Seek God with all your heart and make time for the Word. The Word will show you, who you are in God and where you belong in the Body of Christ.

Rom 12 verse 4-5
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”
It’s a big deal to know this. We all have a gift and how we use it together with the fruits of the Spirit functions as part of the body of Christ. Not knowing who you are in God might leave you with a gift undiscovered or dormant.
Teach your kids who God is and who they are in the Kingdom. Pray that Holy Spirit will show you their gifts and then show them how to use it in the Kingdom. We are from a Royal Priesthood. We play by a different set of rules. We are not from this World… You are anointed.

Too many kids go off into this World searching their whole life for identity – making costly mistakes or are so bound to Worldly Identity that they bow in front of worldly idols who crush them. Or worse – Parents make costly mistakes which will have lifelong consequences on their children if those children never get to know God. Begin at the beginning, sit with God and start to get to know your Father and yourself. We run around with our Orphan spirits and we model and show it to our kids.

Start showing your kids how great is our God. Myself and my husband love to show our kids nature especially mountains and the sea and I love showing them Stars and the moon. The most finest detail in the smallest flower. I show them that it is not man created, but God created. And I magnify His love for us.

If your child knows who she / he is in God, she/he will know how to react towards a Bully – by praying for the child who Bullies. He will be able to share with his parents knowing they’ll pray with him, because your house will be a place of safety protected by God, because he is God’s child. Another world opens for them when they realise and know – I am a love child from a love God.

Jesus says in John 14:20: “When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”I used to have a problem with the kids mixing their clay until this verse came to life inside of me. Now I think by myself “ go right ahead my boy” because that became symbolic to me of how God is in Jesus and Jesus in us.

1 Peter 2 verse 9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
The Bible says the following about us:
I am a child of God (John 1 verse 12)

I am joined to the Lord and Him and I are one (1 Cor 6 verse 17)

I have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly Places (Eph 1 verse 3)

I am a citizen of Heaven (Zion) (Phil 3 verse 20)

I could go on and on. This is just to name a few.

I am daughter of a King, I am a Princess. I do not have a perishable worldly crown. My crown that I am wearing is my life given to me and I want to honour God Almighty in all I do wearing my crown with pride and joy. We have other crowns that awaits us in heaven, which is another blog for another day.

Crowns that awaits us in heaven are:

The Imperishable crown (1 Corinthians 9: 24,25)

The crown of Rejoicing (1 Tes 2:19)
The Crown of Righteousness – (2 Timothy 4:8)
The Crown of Glory – (1 Peter 5:4)
The Crown of Life – (Revelation 2:10)

The Word of God tells us that God is King. And in Romans 8 verse 17 we read that: “ God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance!
Romans 8:15‭-‬17 MSG‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

My you start today and come humble before God. Come with an open heart and willingness. Seek your Identity in Him and find out what he has planned for you. And while doing that start to teach your kids the same thing. I promise you – they WILL thank you. I still thank my earthly Father for leading me to Jesus at the age of 15.
Take your crown and wear it with pride. Know who you are walk into your identity. You’ll never look back.

Goodness of Growing

Just when you think PnP has had a brilliant marketing tool to push up sales (stikeez), Checkers pulls out another rabbit out of the hat. Little Garden has everyone talking, even the schools are having little trays and each pupil plants their little seedling in the class room and together they watch it grow. I must say even I am very into it. I have a couple of them lined up in our kitchen window and we love to see how they are growing. It is such a simple concept without a lot of effort. On Television when marketing this, they have a song all the kids sing…”imagine what will grow”…….

When you make Jesus Lord of your life and proclaim with your mouth that He is your King, you are a born again Christian.

Please read with me in John 3 verse 1 to 8

Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. ” “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
John 3:1‭-‬8 NIV‬‬

Physically you may still be the same, but in the Spirit something remarkable has happened. Your heart which is like soil to your Spirit is now fruitful and full of minerals…. and that is where some people stop. They do not know that they can invite the Holy Spirit to come and stay within them. YES! After you are born again you go into Prayer and you invite God’s Spirit to come and stay within you. Its called the infilling of the Holy Spirit. When you do that you have seeds that is implanted into that fruitful ground moist from being born again ready for seeds to grow.

Matthew 13:3‭-‬9 NIV : “Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
Jesus then went on to explain the parable he used:

Matthew 13:19‭-‬23 NIV‬‬: “When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Those seeds sown into your good soil needs to grow. Remember, your soil is good, regardless of your past, because once you become born again you are righteous in the eyes of God. You are a New Creation. There are no condemnation for those who are in Christ.

Romans 8:1-2 NIV “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

In order for the seeds to grow they need Sunlight and Water daily and insect repellent as well as fertiliser otherwise the seedling will die. The Word of God and Holy Spirit is your sunlight, water, insect repellent and fertilizer. YOU NEED TO SPEND TIME IN THE WORD OF GOD. YOU NEED TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Your Creator – God Almighty – tells you in the Bible who you are. You need to build a relationship with God and be in conversation with His Spirit – Holy Spirit. There needs to be a relationship.

Making time to read the Bible and meditating on it is like water that will give life and nourishment to the seeds sown in your heart to grow. Jesus said to the Samaritan women at the well that if we drink of the Living water He will give us, we will never thirst again and that it will become like a Spring of water welling up into eternity!!!!! (John 4 verse 1-42)

John 4:13‭-‬14 NIV‬‬: “Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Being born again means you are a baby in the Kingdom of God. We all have or had babies, those first 5 months are so adorable, but we wait for those milestones to happen. At 6 six weeks we see the first smile, which means communication seems be starting, then we support them and take care of them while their neck muscles grow stronger until that little baby can hold up his own head and turn to noises. And man o man when they start sitting on their own we are so chuffed!

We want them to grow. We want our babies to become toddlers and children and adults – my 7 year old is starting with responsibilities in our house now. He is able to give the dogs food on his own when we ask him to and he baths on his own and dresses without assistance. It makes me proud. God is your Father, He wants to see you grow and flourish, He wants you to function in His Kingdom – You need to grow – You cannot stay a baby all the time, you need to know how to protect yourself and your family from the Satan and his lies (insect repellent) and how to receive blessings (Fertiliser) and live a life of victory! Pastor Johan de Beer always says: “There is a higher life in Christ.” That is so very true, because I am living a higher life in Christ!!!

Jesus also said something of utter importance near the end of His conversation with the Samaritan Women.
John 4:24 NIV: “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit are already embedded into your heart when you invite him to live in you.

GALATIANS 5:22‭-‬23 AMP : “But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

You are already equipped with these fruits. They are seeds that need to grow into plants and bear Fruit. Speak them over your life and your household. Call it forth. With these Fruits of the Spirit you will be able to feed and apply them in your marriage and your precious kids will see the fruit and experience the taste of it. You will be honouring God in doing so – you will be able to feed people with the Fruits of the Spirit who are hungry for God and while you do that you will also be growing and maturing Spiritually.

James 1:22‭-‬25 NIV: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

Seek God’s Kingdom first in your life above everything else. Become one with Holy Spirit and be in His presence the whole day everyday. Holy Spirit is like a compass leading you into the right direction – God’s direction.
Imagine what will grow…..

Joyful noise

Having a relationship with God is something precious and mesmerising. Making the Holy Spirit part of your everyday life is so rewarding, intimate and beautiful. When you allow Holy Spirit to guide you in every single decision, you can only be victorious time after time, after time. In my life I gave my everything to God, surrendering completely. I placed my children and my husband in His hands, because no one can protect them better then God.

Raising our 3 boys is a privilege and I really want to raise them well. I don’t want to take 1 day for granted. I believe that if you invest into their life with love and care they will be successful adults. Relationships will flourish in their lifes and they will not become these teenagers who wants to be dark and alone. But how do I make sure that the right choices are being made while my children are in my care? To partner with the Holy Spirit in raising them.

I have read such a beautiful article from Lisa Bevere. She described that raising kids in God are like shooting golden arrows into the future – filled with light. They will be the light carriers of the world in the future. Therefore myself and my husband make Holy Spirit our partner in parenting. Holy Spirit should be a part in all areas of your life. If one would ask what we want out of life; besides protection and love we all would want to have inner joy and peace. Something that is very rare. We see people smile, but inside they are broken, struggling everyday.

While driving to school to pick up the boys, I heard on the radio that more and more places are hosting events for obstacle course fun days for adults and how this radio presenter is encouraging adults to do so not only for health purposes but also to help reduce stress. According to research you reduce stress levels when you play more and laugh more. It made me pray there and then that more parents would play with their kids more often. It would be so rewarding for both adult and child. Stress, depression, negative thoughts, and inner unhappiness is robbing us of that.

What if I told you that to be joyful is a choice, everyday. You can practise being joyful everyday no matter your circumstances. Would you believe me? Ok, what if I told you that being joyful = power & strength. Allow me to show you…

Most of us has heard of Nehemiah 8 verse 10. “The Joy of the Lord is my strength.” The Amplified Bible takes it further – “The Joy of the Lord is my strength and stronghold.” In the Afrikaans Lewende Vertaling it says: “want die blydskap wat die Here gee sal julle krag wees.”
How do you get the joy of the Lord? By spending time with Him. Spending time in His Word and praying and speaking with Him. Having a relationship with Him.

The Bible says: Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all else shall follow. (Matthew 6 verse 33) This is a teaching from Jesus. We are so busy sometimes we ask; but how do I make time? Very easy, while driving in your car you can worship for example. While waiting for the kettle you can read a daily devotional and keep your thoughts busy with the Word of God another example. Make time to have coffee with God just as you would with your friend. You need quiet time with God. No devices, tv or radio. If you really want to, you will make time. The more we spend time in the Word the more we understand who we are in God and the more we take the promises of God for us. (There is 7000 promises in the Bible)

God wants us to be joyful. He wants us to live our lifes to the full. He sent Jesus to die for us. John 10 verse 10 AMP :” The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”
Overflow with Joy. Let it flow over to your children, family and to other people around you who so desperately needs it. God wants us to be joyful in all circumstances because no matter what life throws at you, you have faith in God coming through for you. God will protect, and help and comfort. Romans 8 verse 28 says: “And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.” Spending time with God will reveal His plan and purpose for you.
If your day starts bad – laugh! Laugh in the face of the enemy! Laugh at the situation and apply faith. Trust that God will help you and believe it! Speak the Word!Put God first ALWAYS. Nehemiah 8 verse 10 will start to stir in you and become real. You will have inner joy and contentment and that will bring forth strength. David declares right through in the book of Psalm that God gives him inner joy and that gives him his strength. David was one of the most powerful and successful kings in history.
Paul sang songs and rejoiced in the Lord while being in prison. He knew God and he knew that God will help him. And God did! (Acts 16:16 – 40)

To stress means you rely on your own power and strength and not on God’s power and strenght in your life. Choose Joy. Renew your mind. The greatest battlefield is in your head. Negative thoughts leads to negative words which leads to a very unhappy life. You are what you speak. You shape your life. Negativity leads to wrong choices being made. Negativity drowns out the voice of God.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s Word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things (centre your mind on them, and implant them in your heart).
Philip further goes on to say that you should practise these things in your daily life and God of peace and well-being will be with you.”
Being joyful and staying close to God, meditating on His Word will help you in hearing His voice – giving you hope and direction which will determine your outcome in life.

Depression will fall if you choose to start changing the way you are thinking ( I have been there in the past), negative thoughts will make way for positivity. Nothing will get you under. If you are born again the Bible says that you are a New Creation. You are triumphant – There is no hopelessness for the New Creation. Let your head be filled with Joyful noise! Let your house be full of joyful noise. Send your kids out in this world teaching them to be joyful and think positive and to rejoice in the Lord. They will flourish in everything they do and in every way. Your household will be a place where there is warmth and happiness shooting out golden arrows into the future!

Cleaning House – A renewal of your mind.

Too often I hear how there is said that childern is hard work or being a stay at home mom is hard work. Some people reckon that it’s the most unappreciated work and that you dont often get a thank you for all you have done. In magazines they love telling women to not “loose themselfs”. I was in this state of mind 4 years ago when I just had my second little baby. I felt unappreciated and like the cleaning lady in our house. My spark was gone…. It made me think, is this it?

Just before the birth of my first baby I was a working girl. The day I left to go on maternity leave I turned around and said to my boss that he should not give away my work and that I’ll see them in 4 months time. Two days after birth I cried in the hospital shower,o because all of a sudden I could not bear the thought of being away from that tiny body for one second and that I want to expeirence every milestone! Fortunatly for me my husband also had it in his heart for me to be a saty at home mom, but he did not want to force me into anything.

Everything was wonderful until the enemy started attacking my thoughts. I turned into a very negative and very impatient mommy, quick to anger, very focused on my husban and his where aboouts. It felt to me like all we could talk about when we where together was the kids, and to make matters worse was that I gained weight with the 2 pregnancy that stuck on my body and it started scarring my marraige. I always felt condemed, being lied to – thoughts of being a bad mom. Satan tried stealing from me and distracting me to prevent rasing Godly seed. Childern raised to be strong born again Godly men with Jesus as their Hero. pI stared reading Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian. She teached me how to pray effectivly. I started asking the Holy Spirit to cleanse me. Not by force, but by own choice.

Luke 3 verse 16-17 in the Messege says:

But John intervened: “I’m baptizing you here in the river. The main character in this drama, to whom I’m a mere stagehand, will ignite the kingdom life, a fire, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out. He’s going to clean house—make a clean sweep of your lives. He’ll place everything true in its proper place before God; everything false he’ll put out with the trash to be burned.”

I love it where John the Baptist says: Changing you from the inside out. Holy Spirit will renew you in every way. When you become born again you ask God to receive the Holy Spirit. That same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead then comes and lives in you! He starts to take away everything that is not in right standing with God. Cleaning House!

It gives Life! How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal [Holy] Spirit willingly offered Himself unblemished [that is, without moral or spiritual imperfection as a sacrifice] to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the ever living God?

My thinking started changing. It felt like I was hibernating for a very long time, like I have awaken from a long sleep. My patience grew and with that I started seeing my wonderful little boys show me precious things just by being a little patiencent with them. My thoughts of being the cleaning lady changed to thoughts of thankfullness. I started tahnking God for the previlage to make my family food and feed them and seeing them grow making sure I give them my best! Making sure the house is clean for them to enjoy started to satify me bathing them turned into laughhter washing dishes turned into worshiping with God while doing the chore and ironing bacame my time in the evenings to listen to teachings from our Pastors.
I became postive and rejuvinated in the Word of God. With all of those neagtive thoughts going – wisdom and Spiritual Groth staterd taking place and that resulted into hearing and healding to the Holy Spirit. When we are so contaminated by lies from the Holy Spirit it is hard to see of hear what God has planned for us. We are busy raising Childern for HIM! Chirldern who will stand beside us one day in heaven as our brother or sisiter in God. We are raising a powerful end time army and some people miss it completly because they believe the lies of the enemy.

Chorminded started to turn to Serventhood. In John 10 verse 10 Jesus says clearly that He came so that we may have life and life in abundance. How could we have an abuntdant life if we are smothered by the negative thoughts and thingking and how could our childern reape this abundance if their parents are not in line with the Word of God and hear the guiodance of Holy Spirit?

Today as I amwriting this to you the time is 5pm. I have a kitchen full of dishes that awaits me, dinner I should have strated already, kids I’ll have to bath and toys to pickup later plus ironing work and admin (working for my husband). But I have joy in my heart. I look at my 4 year old and my heart swells. I look outside and hear the birds singing. winking at the world outside I make myself ready for rush hour(s).

I concider myself truelly blessed. Raising Kings for the Kingdom of God.

The walk of life.

At my wedding reception I had a little gift and a card thanking my guests for coming with a verse from 1 John 4 verse 16: “God is love.” Attached to it was a beautiful keyring with a red heart on it. I felt so chuffed about it….

9 Years later I would say to you that I did not really realise or understand the true, true meaning of that powerful verse. Today it has a whole new meaning for our family. The value of that short verse is so powerful it just overwhelms me at times… it humbles me.

I have been blogging about the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and how we as parents should partner with Holy Spirit in raising our little ones. I started with the first one mentioned in Galatians – LOVE.
Since it is impossible to only write one blog about the fruit – love; I wrote 4 blogs about love and want to conclude (for now) on the first fruit; LOVE with this blog.

I was reading a fantastic book: The Power of your mind by Pastor Chris Oyakilome, when the Holy Spirit began to lay something very urgent on my heart.
Walking in love… are we as parents walking in love? Are we examples to our kids? Are we teaching them to walk in love?
Some of us think that we walk in perfect love till that someone offends you….. till that somebody has done you wrong. Offense, unforgiveness and bitterness can root from such a young age because kids see it being modelled in their families.

It can start with you and your spouse and how you live in your marriage. Wifes are you fully submitting to your husband? And husbands are you loving your wife as Jesus loves His church? Just by commiting to that we can already teach our kids to make a huge diffrence in this world. Myself and my husband have actually learned that the way you and your spouse handle differences is how you show your kids how to solve differences and handle arguments in their daily life.

Its so easily viewed in families that it is ok not to make peace. We show kids that it is ok to have a resentful heart and to be bitter about situations.
Lets see what the Word of God says about the matter….
Proverbs 19 verse 11 “Good sense make one slow to anger and it is glory to overlook an offense.” (Clearly Solomon learned something very powerful way back when)
Proverbs 18 verse 19“A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city, and quarrelling is like bars of a castle”
Romans 14 verse 13 – “ Therefore let us stop passing judgement on one another. Instead make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

Offense, bitterness and resentment will restrict you from growing in God. Having negativity in your heart and not peace about someone will hinder you from meditating on the promises of God. The only thing that can restrict your growth is if you take offense, hold a grudge and be bitter not being able to forgive.

1 Corinthians 13 verse 1 to 3 says: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

It is so important to make things right with whoever you are having a trouble with right now. If you have a willing heart a true and willing heart to make things right, there are new heights your growth within God can go. Holy Spirit will be able to teach you and reveal new things to you within God’s Kingdom. If you have negativity in your life – that is what you will meditate on. How can God then work through you to bless others?
It is of great importance that we as parents are the ones to show our kids the love of God.

Jesus was such a fantastic example when it came to bitterness and unforgiveness. We can just go and look at everything they have done to Him in the New Testament. Yet He prays: “Father forgive them.”

1 Corinthians 13 verse 4 -8:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

You can insert God in the place of love because the Word states to us that God is love.

So God is patient, God is Kind. God does not envy, God does not boast. God is not proud. God does not dishonour other. God is not self-seeking. God is not easily angered. God does not keep record of wrongs.. we can go on.
Now. If you are a born again child of God. God lives in you. So you, Mom or Dad. You can put your name in 1 Corinthians 13 verse 4 to 8 where love is. And then practise it in your every day life.

Are we walking in love? Are we teaching our kids how to walk correctly Spiritually? In verse 8 it just highlights it – LOVE NEVER FAILS!!!! How powerful. If you walk in love. How can you ever fail? How can those precious kids of yours fail?

1 John 4 verse 10: “My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love.”

This is not a condemnation blog. This is to reveal to you that so many of us walk with darkness in our hearts. Ask Holy Spirit to help you and teach you how to forgive. How to not take offense easily. How to not be bitter. Holy Spirit is there to counsel us. To guide you. Practise in all things how to walk in love and your kids will follow. Let God take you to amazing new heights in His Kingdom!
There is no one higher than God. Did you know that love is the strongest force, it’s the highest power. God is love. Show your kids the love of God shining through you. Glow with God’s love. It is that love that attracts people to you, wanting to also have what you have and the opportunity to tell them about our wonderful Saviour. Teach your kids how to walk correctly in life. How to walk in love.

The Antidote to Fear

Waking up with a healthy one year old climbing over me; made me smile. This is a brand new year… the first of January 2018.
A New Year, exciting things to come. New dreams and hopes are flourishing in all of our hearts, but for some it is a fearful thought, a thought of uncertainty and for some of us it could be a sad thought. Some of us are so locked into fear we speak negativity into our new year without even realising it. At the end of the year some of us tend to look back at what happened in that year. What was the lows and what was the highs? Sometimes we get so stuck in the past and what happened without noticing that we are moving right into fear’s claws.
I thank God for His wonderfull Word and in there for Matthew 14 verse 22 to 36. Regardless of the fact that Jesus is actually walking on water! Wow it would have been so amazing to experience – He taught Peter a very valuable lesson on that day. Peter was to walk to Jesus in faith and keep his eyes on Jesus. The moment Peter took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the big waves, he feared and started sinking.
And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
In todays news we don’t always get positive intake with what we see and hear. We can easily look at the waves the world is making and start entertaining fear, speaking it and creating it. Life circumstances, sickness, death, finances and negative news can be very big waves threatening to crush us.
Maybe fear came and knocked on your door last year and maybe you entertained it…..
Speaking to you on this first day of a New Year – I can tell you that fear came to knock on my door last year and it came with big guns. It was always “what if this happened and how is this possible in the Bible and and and… always negative whispers filled with fear. The enemy always questioning Gods Word. Fear tried to grip my heart so strong that at times I panicked. It felt like a stone on my chest cutting off my breath.
Fear and anxiety can slowly creep up on you and when you are not careful it can hit hard and fast. It makes me think of a Black Mamba….It slithers towards you and if you do not guard your heart with the Word of God, it will attack. If you know a Black Mamba snake you will know his aim… and that is to kill.
Fear is known to kill. It can not only kill your Spirit of your love for God, it will kill your faith and make you question your calling, breaking you down. It can kill you physically as well. It can damage your heart literally. It can steal your joy, If you bow before fear, it can steal a whole family’s joy.
I sat in my living room the one day shivering with fearfull thoughts busy praying out loud in tongues (which I found to gave me peace whenever fear came to whisper in my ear) and as I looked up, my eyes locked on a beautiful promise from God. My Mom and Stepfather bought me – a beautiful wooden piece and on it was the words of Jeremiah burned into the wood. It hanged on the wall for a while now, but on this day it was as if God just tapped on my shoulder again pointing it out- a promise of Him.
Jer 29 verse 11: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
There and then God lifted my chin and gently spoke to me like a Dad would to His Daughter.

God showed me that when I needed resting; He is there and will protect and comfort at all times. Holy Spirit instructed me to study His Word more. I have to make more time and get to know the truth so that fear can not lie to me. I have to make my sword big and sharp and that I need to not look at the waves of the world at times, but to keep my focus on Him and His promises. We walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
I started seeing myself as in the image below:

Faith as my shield and the Word of God my sword.

(Armor of God = Eph 6 verse 10-18)
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God “(Romans 10 verse 17)
I started getting courage and I hungered for more which was growth for my soul. I started to sing along with Bethel, Hillsong and various Christian artist. Excitement filled me. Many times I am jumping up and down in my living room or kitchen at 10pm ish in the evening with earphones on (volume full blast!) and hands in the air praising Him and being joyful. The exact opposite of fear, depression and anxiety and it always uplifted my soul. Recharged and Vitalized with Gods love for me! Peace came and with that thankfulness. Fear start cowering away.
Pastor Edna Els from Richards Bay said: “Dont face your fear. Rise above it. You are bigger than it and it’s deceiving lies.”
I wanted to stand up and shout Hallelujah in church that Sunday!!!!!!

With these precious wonderful ammunition I received from Holy Spirit I will teach my kids how not to shiver and bow to fear!
Raising those Kings and Queens in your beautiful household will require braveness and strong faith. We will require steadfastness of rejoicing in His love and meditating on His promises.
Sharing with my gorgeous husband my blog this morning he gave me His verse for when fear comes to try and shake him. – Josh 1 verse 9 : “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Before that the Word of God says in Joshua to not get off track and do not let down on studying the Bible. We should ponder and meditate on it day and night. “Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed.” Joshua 1 verse 8
I can never emphasize enough how precious our kids are. They keep such a close eye on us and observe everything we do. Overcoming fear can give you the power of raising fearless children with the precious knowledge of who they are. Teaching them that God has so much for them and that He has a special calling for them – they can become wonderful leaders impacting other kids’ lives and other people everywhere they go. Kids that will not fear for exams, friends, bullies or status. Kids that will believe and trust God without fear. Kids becoming young adults that would believe in themselves that if they study or go into a certain profession or calling which God called them for, that they will strive in it and that they will be blessed with it succeeding in everyway despite the fact that the world is showing them that there is no work for those students post graduate or that they don’t have a future in this land in that job title. They can do all things in Jesus Christ. Telling them they have no future in our land or in this and that is one of the most awful lies believed by all and what’s worse is, parents telling it to their kids! Giving young adults today no hope. They just except the lies and live in disadvantage. Not striving. Missing all God has for them. Dying too young.

If you can overcome that fear Spirit; fighting it with the Word of God; rejoicing in is Name and praying to Him; confiding in Him, Holy Spirit will renew your thoughts and you will become stronger not allowing those thoughts to numb you. Fight it by speaking aloud the Word of God.
Pastor Zelda de Beer from Christ Embassy taught me that you cannot fight a thought with a thought. Speak life! Speak the Word of God. Jesus fought the Devil when in the dessert with Scripture!
Fly on eagles wings – every step with Holy Spirit on your side. You can raise kids who will be fearless and have advantage succeeding in what they do because of boldness and faith and love for God.

Moms and Dads. May you have a year filled with a hunger to get to know Papa God. A year where you will partner up with the Holy Spirit raising Victorious Children. May you always first seek the Kingdom of God and may your lives lead people to Jesus’ love. May your family be in perfect health, may your family be wrapped in Jesus’s love and His light shine in you and your family.

Lets paralyze Fear. Don’t face your fear. Rise above your fear. You are bigger than that lie. You are precious and so are your kids.

Parenting in Partnership with the Holy Spirit

Being a Mom of 3 little boys can be very adventurous, exciting, fun, very cute and at the same time be a test of your patience. It can also be very tiring and sometimes feel like everything is on the tip of chaos.

After each day you stare at those gorgeous angel faces and you fall in love all over again….

Wanting the best for my kiddos – made me sit with my nose in many parenting books….. I loved it, it helped me in understanding them better and I knew how to handle situations more accurately and with patience. I am also a firm believer that my boys should be able to go out with me on shopping errands in order to learn how to behave in public, what I disliked a lot was people with their opinions when on those outings. I would get:

” Aaaaah enjoy them. Small children = small problems. Big children = big problems.” Or

” Enjoy them while they are small…You know children these are not like they use to be like in the olden days. Good luck. Teenagers these days!”

Before I knew it I spoke: “Maybe it’s because parents are not yielding to the Holy Spirit and listening to His guidance in terms of their children’s lives.” The lady turned around and walked off as if I said something rude towards her. I promised myself to think twice before speaking…..but did not regret thinking that this is the very truth!

2 Years ago we attended a 9 week free course at a Church cell called: The New Superman. I have been a born again Christian since the age of 15, but there at The New Superman, Pastor Johan and Pastor Zelda taught myself and my husband about the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit is a vital partner in your life. You need His guidance in everything. A gift given from God.

Acts 1 verse 4 and 5:

“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

John 14 verse 26 and 27:

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.”

John 16 verse 14:

“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.”

Learning about this, reading about the Holy Spirit in my Bible made me very, very, very excited. God knows my children inside out! He knows what is best for them and what to avoid in life. He will be able to lead me in each of my boy’s life dicissions and on how to uplift them in life. How to see the gifts and talents given to them and then helping them embracing and developing it. How to work with their uniqueness and respect their personalities in order for me to raise Kings in the Kingdom of God! We have advantage! We have a very big and significant gift! The Holy Spirit! We will have a victorious life no matter how circumstances look like there in the outside world.

I mean that makes me jump up and down everytime! With every child comes his or her unique personality and challenges. For example – You cannot discipline them all the same. My oldest one you can just look at with warning eyes and the tears stream down his face and that’s enough for him. He is sorry for whatever he did and he will not do that again. My second oldest needs 2 warnings and at times the physical warning on his bum before he registers that this is a no go zone. (We will wait and see what my baby boy is like in terms of discipline and testing boundaries.) You can trust in the Holy Spirit to lead you even in how to disspiline each child correctly.

Psalm 139 vers 13 to 16: “ For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.”

Trusting in God for protection over myself, my husband and my children together with the guidance of His Spirit can only ensure that I raise wonderful and successful men who will live victorious in this world with its failing systems, a world driven by fear. We will stand fearless!

Join me in this journey where I will share what the Holy Spirit has taught me and what He wants me to share about marriage, parenting and living a life for God in victory and honouring Him in all we do.
